Airmoney is what every Airalo reward is paid in, and Airalo's help centre sets out its rules:

• Priced in US dollars. A pound balance converts at prevailing rates if the display currency changes.
• Expiry resets on each purchase. Airmoney can expire from 1 February 2025, and every purchase pushes the expiry a further year out.
• Applies from $1.00. A balance below $1.00 waits until it reaches a dollar.
• Pays for eSIMs and top-ups. Renewals need a saved card.
• Credit, not cash. Non-transferable, spendable on Airalo.

What Airalo actually sells

Airalo is not a mobile network. It buys data from local operators in each destination and resells it as a downloadable eSIM profile: a SIM provisioned in software, nothing posted, nothing swapped in a tray. Your UK SIM stays put and the Airalo line sits beside it, so you keep your number for calls and texts while data runs at local rates instead of through a roaming add-on. Before you buy: two checks

1. Can the phone take it? You need eSIM-capable hardware and a carrier-unlocked handset. In practice: iPhone XS/XR and newer, Pixel 3 and newer, recent Galaxy S and Z models, plus a growing list of mid-range Androids.
