Is the Quidco referral worth it in 2026?

Cashback joining offers get compared on the headline number, which is the wrong figure to look at. Quidco's £10 is half of TopCashback's £20 — and considerably easier to actually collect, because the threshold is half as high and there is no clock attached to it at all.

The bar, not the bonus

Quidco releases the £10 once you have earned £5 of confirmed cashback. TopCashback wants £10 of tracked cashback within 180 days. Cheddar wants £5 within 30 days. Quidco publishes no deadline whatsoever.

That changes what the offer is for. TopCashback's and Cheddar's bonuses reward people who have a purchase lined up right now. Quidco's rewards people who will buy something, eventually — which is most people. Sign up today, do nothing for four months, then renew your car insurance, and the £10 arrives on schedule.

"Confirmed" is the only word doing real work in that sentence. It is a defined status inside Quidco: cashback the retailer has actually paid over, sitting in your balance and ready to withdraw, as distinct from pending. Quidco's refer-a-friend help article, last updated 22 October 2025, adds that bonus payments and free purchases do not count towards the £5, and that it may be built across any number of separate purchases.

Link-only changes the order of operations

There is no Quidco code. The sign-up flow contains no field for one — attribution is carried entirely by the /raf/ URL, which is why the link ends in a member ID rather than a word.

The practical consequence is a sequencing one. On a code-based offer you can join first and paste the code in during onboarding. Here, the £10 is fixed at the moment the account is created, from whichever page you arrived on. Create the account from quidco.com and there is nothing to attach it to later.

So: https://www.quidco.com/raf/18700193/, opened first. Quidco's own page states the £10 back to you before you type anything, which is the confirmation that the referral registered. Quidco's help centre also asks joiners to clear cache and cookies beforehand — the attribution is cookie-based, and a stale cookie is the usual reason one fails to stick.

Clearing £5 without trying

The threshold is low enough that a single purchase you had planned anyway usually clears it outright:

• Car or home insurance — a flat sum per policy, and typically the largest single cashback figure on the site
• Broadband or TV switch — substantial flat payments from the major providers
• Mobile or SIM-only contract — a flat sum per new connection
• Flight or hotel booking — a percentage of a large total
• One electricals or furniture order — a few per cent of a few hundred pounds

Timing is the retailer's to set, not Quidco's. Ordinary retail confirms in days to weeks; insurance and travel take around three months, because a cancellation window has to expire first. Quidco shows an estimated payment date on your activity page so the wait is visible rather than mysterious.

Getting paid

Three routes out, from Payments on the site or Withdraw Balance in the app: free BACS to a UK bank account, PayPal, or a retailer gift card that Quidco tops up with an extra boost. The minimum is £1 on the first two, which is the lowest on this site, and the app allows partial withdrawals confirmed with a PIN or biometrics.

About that £25

Quidco share screens show £25, and it is worth being precise about what that is: the Premium tier's referrer reward. Quidco's Premium page states that Premium members receive £25 when a friend joins through their link and meets the qualifying criteria. The joiner's side of the same transaction is the £10 — paid whether the new account sits on Basic or Premium.

Premium is priced unusually: £1 in any month in which you actually buy something through Quidco, nothing in a month you do not, and one £1 covering any number of purchases in a month you do. It adds up to 25% higher rates on selected retailers, a larger gift-card boost and that £25 referral reward, with three months free for new members.

The verdict

Worth it, and worth it for a different reason from the others. If you want the biggest cashback joining bonus, TopCashback's £20 is the bigger number. If you want the one most likely to actually land in your account without any planning, Quidco's £10 at £5 with no clock is the one to take — and there is nothing stopping you holding both, since per-retailer rates differ and the two bonuses are independent.
