Quidco Referral Code — £10 after £5 cashback

Most joining bonuses are won or lost on the threshold rather than the headline. Quidco's is £10 — less than TopCashback's £20 — but it releases at £5 of confirmed cashback instead of £10, and Quidco attaches no deadline to it at all. That combination makes it the easiest cashback bonus in Britain to actually collect, and the only one you can sign up for today and claim at next spring's insurance renewal without losing anything.

The link is the mechanism

Quidco runs a link-only referral. There is no alphanumeric code, because the sign-up flow contains no field to type one into — attribution is carried entirely by the /raf/ URL.

That inverts the usual order of operations. On a code-based offer you can create the account and paste the code in during onboarding. Here the £10 is fixed to the account at the moment it is created, from whichever page you arrived on, and it cannot be attached retrospectively. So the link comes first:

Open it and Quidco's own page states the offer back to you — "here's a £10 treat on us… Your £10 bonus will be paid once you've earned £5 cashback with Quidco" — before you have entered anything. That confirmation is how you know the referral registered.

Quidco's help centre adds one instruction worth following: clear your browser's cache and cookies before clicking. The attribution is cookie-based, and a stale cookie from an earlier visit to quidco.com is far and away the most common reason a referral fails to stick.

What "£5 confirmed" actually asks of you

Confirmed is a defined status, not a turn of phrase. Inside Quidco, cashback starts as pending on the day you shop and becomes confirmed once the retailer has settled with Quidco — at which point it is ready to withdraw. Only confirmed cashback counts towards the £5, and Quidco's refer-a-friend article (last updated 22 October 2025) states plainly that bonus payments and free purchases are excluded.

What it does not require is one big order. The £5 accumulates across as many purchases as you make.

The timing is set by the retailer rather than by Quidco. Ordinary retail confirms in days to weeks. Insurance and travel take around three months, because a cancellation window has to run out before the sale is final. Quidco shows an estimated payment date on your activity page and on each retailer's own page, so the wait is at least visible.

The fastest routes past £5

Everyday shopping reaches £5 too. It simply takes more transactions, and more patience while each confirms.

Getting the money out

Three routes, from Payments on the website or Withdraw Balance in the app:

• BACS to a UK bank account — free, minimum £1.
• PayPal — minimum £1.
• A retailer gift card — Quidco adds an extra boost on top, so if you were going to spend there anyway the gift-card route is worth more than cash.

The app also allows partial withdrawals and confirms them with your device PIN or biometrics.

Where the £25 figure comes from

You may have seen £25 attached to Quidco referrals elsewhere. That is the Premium tier's referrer reward, not the joiner's. Quidco's Premium page states that when a friend joins through your referral link and meets the qualifying criteria, Premium members receive £25. What a new member receives through the link on this page is the £10, and it is paid whether the account sits on Basic or Premium.

Premium itself is worth a line, because the pricing is unusual: £1 in any month in which you actually make a purchase through Quidco. A month with no Quidco purchase costs nothing, and one £1 covers however many purchases you make in a month that does. It adds up to 25% higher rates on selected retailers, a larger gift-card boost and that £25 referral reward, and new members get three months of it free.

Where cashback can be affected

Quidco publishes a standard-exclusions list, and it is short enough to read once and remember. Cashback may not be earned where a gift card or shopping card paid for the purchase; where a voucher or discount code not published by Quidco on that retailer's page was used; where the purchase is itself of gift cards, vouchers or postage stamps; where an order is cancelled, returned or amended; where the order was not completed entirely online in one visit through the retailer's Quidco link; or where another site is credited with the sale. Some retailers also exclude VAT, delivery and admin fees from the amount they pay on.

The voucher-code line is the one that costs people money. A code taken from Quidco's own retailer page is built to stack with the cashback. A code found elsewhere and pasted in at the retailer's checkout can cost the cashback on the entire order.

Is there a Quidco promo code or discount code?

Two different things share that phrasing, and separating them is worth real money.

For joining, there is no code. The £10 attaches to the referral link, and no code exists that could be entered instead. Anything presented as a "Quidco sign-up code" is describing a mechanism Quidco does not operate.

For shopping, codes very much exist — Quidco publishes a library of retailer voucher codes on each retailer's Quidco page, and those are designed to be used alongside the cashback rate. They are discounts at the shop, not at Quidco.

How it sits against the other two

TopCashback returns 100% of the retailer commission and pays double the joining bonus, but wants £10 of cashback inside 180 days. Quidco wants half that and sets no clock. Cheddar is a different animal altogether — instant cashback on in-app gift cards for supermarket and high-street spending, with nothing for insurance or broadband.

Holding Quidco and TopCashback together is the standard move, because per-retailer rates differ enough that checking both before a large purchase genuinely pays. Adding Cheddar covers the weekly shop the other two cannot reach. All three pay their own joining bonus, and none of them sees the same transaction.

What we checked

Every figure here was read from Quidco's own estate on 18 September 2026: the live joining page behind the link, the refer-a-friend help article last updated 22 October 2025, the withdrawal and standard-exclusions articles, and the Premium page. The FCA appointed-representative status and the MONY Group ownership come from Quidco's own footer and the public record of the 19 October 2021 acquisition.

That is a different standard from the places Quidco links usually surface. Aggregator pages publish "Quidco codes" in a format the programme has never used. Forum threads carry members' personal /raf/ links from months or years ago with no way to tell a live account from a closed one. Screenshots on social show a bonus figure with no date attached, and Quidco has stated in writing that the amount can change and that whatever was advertised at sign-up is what gets paid.
