Voi Referral Code

£2.50 ride credit to start

TopScore6.2/10Solid

The widest reach outside London — Voi runs about two-thirds of England's e-scooter trials. £2.50 to start is modest, but it's the offer that actually works in your town.

£2.50 in ride credit on your account at sign-up; the person who referred you gets £5 once you complete your first paid Voi trip.

Use the Voi referral link and £2.50 in ride credit lands on your account at sign-up; the person who referred you gets £5 once you complete your first paid Voi trip. Voi runs e-scooters and e-bikes across roughly 20+ UK towns and cities — about two-thirds of England's e-scooter trials, often as the sole operator. Amounts are from Voi's in-app Invite friends screen; the User Agreement confirms the mechanics. Renting an e-scooter needs an 18+ rider with a provisional UK licence (category Q).

How the Voi referral code works

  1. Tap the Voi referral link on the phone you'll ride with — there is no short code to type.
  2. The link opens or installs the Voi app and attaches the referral; £2.50 in ride credit lands at sign-up.
  3. Add a payment method and find a Voi e-scooter or e-bike in a city where Voi operates.
  4. Take your first paid trip; the credit draws down at the city's pay-as-you-go rate.
  5. Once that first trip completes, the friend who invited you receives £5 in ride credit.

Who's eligible

New Voi customers only. Rental e-scooters need a rider aged 18+ with a provisional UK driving licence (category Q); rental e-bikes need a rider aged 16+ per Voi's User Agreement. A payment method is required before riding. Credits are one per account, non-transferable and not combinable.

Voi's headline number is the smallest in our mobility sector — £2.50 to start — but it earns its place for one reason that matters more than the figure: coverage. Voi runs about two-thirds of England's rental e-scooter trials, very often as the only operator in a town. If you live somewhere Forest and Lime don't reach, Voi is frequently the only ride referral you can actually use.

The offer that works in your town

Where Forest is London-only and Lime concentrates on big cities, Voi is the operator of the smaller and mid-sized towns — across roughly 20+ UK locations. Its priority isn't the largest reward; it's being present where the others aren't. For a reader in a trial town, "the offer I can redeem" beats "the bigger offer I can't" every time, which is how a £2.50 joiner credit still earns a solid score on our table.

What you get

The new rider gets £2.50 in ride credit at sign-up, and the referrer gets £5 once the new rider completes their first paid trip. Both amounts come from Voi's in-app Invite friends screen — the primary source — while Voi's User Agreement confirms the structure (GBP credit, first-trip trigger, automatic in-app crediting) without fixing the amounts, which Voi can vary by city or campaign. So treat £2.50/£5 as the current figure and glance at your own app to confirm.

No code to type

Voi's referral has no short code. The link carries a long, opaque token, so the simplest path is to tap the link on the phone you'll ride with — the app opens or installs and attaches the referral automatically. (If you'd rather enter it manually, the User Agreement notes you can redeem under Free Rides → Redeem Code.) Because there is nothing readable to copy, we don't display a code on this page; the working link is on the join button.

Where Voi operates

Voi Technology is a Stockholm company, founded in 2018, the first to launch shared e-scooters in Europe, now serving 8M+ riders and 300M+ cumulative rides. In the UK it covers DfT e-scooter trial areas and e-bike schemes — including London boroughs, Cambridge and, from late 2025, a Glasgow cycle-hire contract — and it reached its first full year of profitability in 2024. Coverage shifts as borough tenders change, so the in-app map is the source of truth.

The e-scooter rules

The legal framework is the same one that governs Lime's scooters. Renting an e-scooter requires you to be 18+ with a provisional UK driving licence (category Q), because scooters run only under the DfT trial (max 15.5 mph, road and cycle lanes only, no pavements). Voi provides third-party motor insurance on its scooters. Its rental e-bikes set a minimum age of 16 and need no licence. Many cities also offer reduced rates for students, NHS staff, over-65s and low-income riders.

What we checked

We verify this against Voi's in-app Invite friends screen and User Agreement (section 2.8 on referrals), re-checking monthly with a daily link test. Because the amounts live in-app and can vary by city, we say so plainly rather than presenting £2.50/£5 as fixed everywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Voi referral active in 2026?

Yes. Voi's in-app Invite friends screen shows £2.50 for the new rider and £5 for the referrer, and the User Agreement confirms the mechanics. Amounts can vary by city or campaign, so check your own app; we re-check the link daily.

Is there a code to type?

No — the deep link carries an opaque token, so the simplest route is to tap the link on the phone you ride with. The app opens or installs and attaches the referral automatically. The User Agreement also lets you redeem under Free Rides → Redeem Code.

Where can I use a Voi?

Across roughly 20+ UK towns and cities — Voi runs about two-thirds of England's rental e-scooter trials, frequently as the only operator, plus e-bike schemes in places like London boroughs, Cambridge and Glasgow. Check the in-app map, as coverage changes.

Do I need a licence?

For a rental e-scooter, yes: 18+ with a provisional UK driving licence (category Q), under the DfT trial. For a rental e-bike, Voi's User Agreement sets a minimum age of 16 and no licence is required.

When does the referrer's £5 land?

After the invited friend completes their first paid trip — not at sign-up — and it is added to the referrer's account automatically.

Does the credit expire?

Voi publishes no universal expiry; any specific expiry is shown in the app if set. Credits are one-time, non-transferable and not combinable with other offers.
