Is the VOXI referral worth it in 2026?

Short version: VOXI's referral is worth taking, and the plan you join on matters more than anything else about it. Until 7 October 2026 it is also at double value.

The case for the £20 plan

VOXI pays referral rewards by plan, and the same amount goes to both sides. Its Friends with Benefits terms set the tiers at £10 for the £10 and £12 plans, £15 for the £15 plan, and £20 for the £20 plan and above. The Double Rewards clause doubles all three for referrals made between 7 July and 7 October 2026.

The top tier starts at £20 a month and does not rise after it. The £20 plan therefore earns exactly what the £35 Unlimited plan earns, while carrying 100GB and the full set of unlimited apps — social, music and video. Unless you genuinely need unlimited general data, £20 is the plan that makes the referral count.

VOXI adds one condition to the choice: change plan before your second payment and both rewards fall to the lower plan's tier. Pick once and leave it for two months.

What it takes to get paid

Nothing beyond staying. Join through https://join.voxi.co.uk/LTYEql and complete the friend landing page, which is where the referral is logged. Pay for a second month within 60 days of the first, without pausing. Once the person who invited you has done the same, VOXI's reward partner Buyapowa emails both of you a claim link, valid for 90 days.

You then choose between an Amazon.co.uk gift card, a Just Eat gift card and cash to PayPal. For PayPal, use an account under the same email address as your VOXI account.

The one detail to get right is the checkout: leave the promo-code field empty. VOXI's terms say applying one at checkout — including the one-month-free code — invalidates the referral, and joining through student certification does the same. There is no code to hunt for, because the link does the work.

Is the network worth joining anyway?

The reward only matters if the network suits you. VOXI's case rests on zero-rated data: the selected social apps never touch your allowance on any plan, music apps are added from £12, and video apps — YouTube among them — from £15. For heavy social and video users, that changes the maths of which plan they need.

It is Vodafone's own SIM-only brand, running on the combined Vodafone and Three network, with 5G, eSIM, WiFi Calling and Visual Voicemail. There is no contract: every plan is a rolling 30-day subscription at a locked price, and you can change, pause or cancel whenever you like. Roaming in Europe is a separate pass, from £2.45 a day.

Students have their own route — a free first month and extra data through GoCertify, UNiDAYS or Student Beans — which is taken instead of the referral, not alongside it.

Against SMARTY

SMARTY runs the nearest equivalent, also through Buyapowa: up to £20 each on plans of £15 or more (£10 or £5 on smaller plans), paid after the friend renews, which SMARTY's own page puts at month three, as PayPal cash or an Amazon.co.uk, John Lewis & Partners or Uber gift card. While Double Rewards runs, VOXI's top tier is twice SMARTY's and arrives a month sooner.

The verdict

Worth it, on the £20 plan above all. The figures here come straight from VOXI's Friends with Benefits terms (last updated 7 July 2026) and VOXI's own plan and student pages, read on 22 September 2026; SMARTY's come from its refer-a-friend page on the same date. TopReferrals tests the link daily and re-reads the terms monthly — which is more than can be said for the coupon pages still pushing "VOXI promo codes" that, under VOXI's rules, would cancel the reward.
