How the Uber referral code works

- No app yet? On a computer the link asks for your UK mobile number: sign up to Uber with that same number.
- Or type tz4dcya9ssfp in the app: Account → Wallet → Add promo code, before your first trip.
- Book as normal: each of your first 5 fares is cut by 50%, up to £5 a trip.
Who's eligible
Riders who have never used Uber, aged 18 or over and in a UK location where Uber runs. The code has to be on the account before the first trip is requested, and Uber accepts one new-user code per account.
Five trips at half price, with Uber paying up to a fiver of each one: that is the offer for anyone joining Uber through referral code tz4dcya9ssfp or the link https://topreferrals.co.uk/go/uber. Add the trips together and a new rider can save up to £25 before paying a full fare.
Five half-price trips, capped at a fiver
Uber's referral page for this code is headed "Get 50% off next 5 Uber trips", and the invite sent from the app sets the ceiling: a maximum of £5 per trip. The arithmetic follows from those two numbers.

Ten pounds is the turning point. Below it, Uber halves the fare; above it, Uber takes off a flat £5. For scale, Uber's London page puts the average UberX fare to Paddington, Waterloo or St Pancras International at £20 to £21, so trips like those each collect the full £5.
Getting the code onto your account
Timing is the only rule that trips people up, and Uber states it plainly: promotions go on the account before a trip is requested.
- On a phone: tap https://topreferrals.co.uk/go/uber. If Uber is installed, the app opens with the referral already attached.
- On a laptop: the same link opens Uber's referral page, which asks for a UK mobile number. Uber replies "Great! Enjoy the first trip offer"; download the app and register with that same number.
- Typing it in: Account → Wallet → Add promo code → tz4dcya9ssfp → Add.
Then open Wallet → Promotions. Uber lists every active promotion there with its expiry date and the area it covers.
Uber's small print, translated

- New riders only. An existing account sees "You're not eligible for this offer" on the referral page.
- Adults in the UK. Promotions are open to riders aged 18 or over, in a UK location where Uber operates.
- One referral per person. Someone who has accepted another invite cannot accept this one, and Uber allows one new-user code per account.
- One promotion per trip. Codes do not stack; Uber applies whichever has the highest maximum discount. Some Uber One benefits can sit alongside it.
- City and country. The offer follows your sign-up city, and a UK invite is for UK riders.
- Split Fare. The discount comes off the account that booked the ride.
- Rides, not food. Uber Eats runs separate promotions.
Spending the discount well
Because each trip is capped at £5, the five discounted fares are worth most on journeys of £10 or more: the airport, the station, the trip home after a late night. Uber Reserve books those up to 90 days ahead, with free cancellation up to 60 minutes before pick-up. Groups of up to six fit in one UberXL, so the whole party shares one discounted fare instead of two.
London riders choose between UberX for everyday trips, Comfort for extra legroom, Electric and Comfort Electric for zero-emission cars, UberXL and Exec XXL for groups and luggage, Exec and Lux for business and occasions, and Uber Pet for passengers with a pet.
What Uber offers in Britain now
Uber says it is the largest mobility platform in the world, and its app reaches 15,000+ cities and 700+ airports. Its Great Britain directory lists Uber from Aberdeen and Belfast to Bristol, Glasgow and York. The same app now books trains, coaches, Eurostar, flights and car hire.
The newest arrival is autonomy. On 2 September 2026 Uber and London-based Wayve opened supervised autonomous rides to the public, a UK first: an all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E with the Wayve AI Driver and a TfL-licensed driver on board, offered on UberX, Electric and Comfort requests in London at no extra cost. Uber says more than 140,000 Londoners have opted in through Ride Preferences.
After the five discounted trips, Uber One (£4.99 a month or £49.99 a year) pays 5% back in credits on rides and 10% on Exec and Lux, plus a £0 delivery fee on eligible Uber Eats orders.
